The activities of Digital Health Finland are built around four key competence areas. These areas represent fields where Finland has strong digital health expertise and where there is significant demands in international markets. For each competence area, an offering description is developed to showcase Finnish solutions and to support organizations in their internationalization efforts.
The initial competence areas were defined at the launch of the network. The portfolio will be complemented and expanded in collaboration with digital health stakeholders, with new themes and strengths highlighted in the future.

1. Secondary use of social and health data
Finland has a long history of collecting and utilizing high-quality social and health data. Secondary use of data enables the responsible and secure development of new services, research, and innovations. Internationally, Finland offers expertise in data governance, ethical and regulatory solutions, as well as digital platforms that support data utilization.
2. Age tech -solutions in care for the elderly
An aging population increases the need for cost-efficient, safe, and user-centered solutions. Finland provides a wide range of technologies and services that support independent living, wellbeing, and care for older people. In international markets, these solutions address a global challenge while simultaneously creating business growth opportunities for Finnish actors.
3. AI in healthcare and social services
AI offers significant potential to improve service quality and accessibility while increasing efficiency. In Finland, AI solutions are being developed for areas including diagnostics, treatment planning, resource management, and customer service. International partners can benefit from Finland’s expertise in applying AI safely, effectively, and ethically.
4. Digital health and social care consultancy
Digitalization is reshaping health and social care comprehensively. Finland has strong expertise and consulting services that help organizations plan, implement, and evaluate digital projects.
