Digital Health Finland is a network launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health to strengthen the international growth and collaboration of Finland’s digital health expertise.
The network’s ambition is to position Finland as a global forerunner in digital health, recognized and utilized worldwide for its know-how and solutions. The initiative is part of the RDI Growth Programme for Health and Wellbeing coordinated by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. A broad group of companies, service system organizations, academic actors, and public sector representatives are engaged in the network.
About us
Digital Health Finland is a network launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health that brings together Finnish digital health actors to strengthen international growth and collaboration. The network unites companies, service system organizations, academia, and the public sector to co-develop and promote Finnish digital health solutions for global markets.
At the heart of this collaboration is the idea that Finnish digital health expertise should not be seen as isolated services or products, but as clear and internationally attractive solution portfolios. To support this, the network produces offering descriptions that illustrate the types of solutions Finland can export, ranging from research and expert services to software and medical devices.
By joining the network, your organization gains access to information on internationalization opportunities, events, co-creation workshops, and collaboration forums. At the same time, you will be part of building a sustainable cooperation model that brings together the best actors in the field to develop and promote Finnish digital health globally.
Any organization interested in the internationalization of digital health can join the Digital Health Finland network – companies, public sector actors, research and educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations.
By joining the network, you will receive information about:
- internationalization opportunities and delegation visits
- network events, workshops, and seminars
- offering descriptions and collaboration projects
Network structure and coordination
The activities of Digital Health Finland are guided by a coordination group led by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The network’s secretariat is managed by DigiFinland Oy and the University of Oulu. Under the leadership of the Ministry, Business Finland and Healthtech Finland also participate in the coordination group. Thematic working groups and a steering group further support the activities by bringing in stakeholder perspectives and strengthening the network’s strategic direction.
Digital Health Finland does not build new organizational structures; instead, it strengthens collaboration between existing actors and networks. This ensures that national expertise and development work are used efficiently, and that Finland acts as a unified and influential developer of digital health solutions.
The network also engages in active international promotion. Digital Health Finland advances Finnish solutions through the Team Finland network as well as through international meetings and collaborative projects. The goal is to ensure that Finnish digital health expertise reaches the right partners and markets, reinforcing Finland’s position as a global player.

The activities of Digital Health Finland are built around four key competence areas. These areas represent fields where Finland has strong digital health expertise and where there is significant demands in international markets. For each competence area, an offering description is developed to showcase Finnish solutions and to support organizations in their internationalization efforts.
The initial competence areas were defined at the launch of the network. The portfolio will be complemented and expanded in collaboration with digital health stakeholders, with new themes and strengths highlighted in the future.

Finland has a long history of collecting and utilizing high-quality social and health data. Secondary use of data enables the responsible and secure development of new services, research, and innovations. Internationally, Finland offers expertise in data governance, ethical and regulatory solutions, as well as digital platforms that support data utilization.
2. Age tech -solutions in care for the elderly
An aging population increases the need for cost-efficient, safe, and user-centered solutions. In international markets, these solutions address a global challenge while simultaneously creating business growth opportunities for Finnish actors.
3. AI in healthcare and social services

In Finland, AI solutions are being developed for areas including diagnostics, treatment planning, resource management, and customer service. International partners can benefit from Finland’s expertise in applying AI safely, effectively, and ethically.
4. Digital health and social care consultancy
Digitalization is reshaping health and social care comprehensively. Finland has strong expertise and consulting services that help organizations plan, implement, and evaluate digital projects. In international markets, Finnish expert work is particularly valued in system-level development, improving service quality, and implementing cost-effective solutions.
